In July, 1975, in partnership with his brother, Kilburn's Plating Company, Inc. began operation within a 6,000 square feet facility, employing only 3 people. With a combined total of over 30 years prior experience, Kilburn's excelled in show quality metal finishing of copper, nickel, and chrome for motorcycle, antique automotive, and after market automotive accessory parts.

In 1984, Kilburn's expanded by moving into two 12,000 square feet buildings within the Adamsville, TN city limits. Daily operations consists of two shifts with over 40 dedicated, skilled employees. A decorative plating line produces semi bright nickel, bright nickel, and chrome metal coatings over raw materials such as steel and brass. Plating vats are 7' x 8' in varying widths. Equipped with 5 programmable over head hoist, high volumes of parts may be handled and provide high quality metal finishing for a wide variety of industrial applications. An EPA approved waste water treatment facility and chemical analysis laboratory are also on-site.

Leon became sole owner of the facility after his brother retired in 1993.

A 3,200 square feet warehouse will be completed by December, 2002.
